Last Meal: Left over chicken fried rice and one ton soup
OK, the holidays are over and things are rolling again. With Christmas / New Years in the past the wedding seems really close - 6 weeks from tomorrow to be exact. For the last week Kristin and I have been working hardcore on out invitations. They should finally get sent out tomorrow.
I am getting used to not living at my parents house anymore. I live on frozen pizza and cereal. Well, that's not totally true. Kristin has come over and made some good meals for us.
Let's see. Oh yeah, the gathering I had planned to have at my place tonight is canceled. I just don't have time for it tonight...it's kind of sad. It has been rescheduled for next Friday. It works out, because by then I should have (hopefully) less to do, more furniture and places for people to sit, and be more put away from moving.
I booked the travel for the mystery honeymoon yesterday. Sweet.
I registered DavidandKristin.com. I hope to have a holding page up for it within a few days. My e-mail will change to David@DavidandKristin.com soon too.
Oh yeah, I turned 21 since I last posted. My birthday was good. I got a sweet 19 inch LCD monitor from Kristin (with additional donations from her parents, my parents, Isaac, and Nathan). Right now I am trying to get the right stuff so I can work on both monitors at once. Anyway, her parents took us out to eat for lunch, and then Erin, Nate, Kristin, Dan and I went to Outback for a late dinner. I did some shots from Jay and drank a little...a good time. Then I had to go back and work on invitations some more. Oh well.
I should be getting Cable Internet hooked up on Tuesday. I am currently fighting Comcast to get them to honor the price that is on their website and that I signed up for. That price is 29.99 a month. However, they are trying to tell me the real price is 39.99 for three months and then 57.99 a month after that. I'll admit, the latter price sounds more realistic for cable...but, they have it on there and let me sign up for it online. We'll see what happens.
All right, that's it for now.

Hmm...time to play catch up.
Christmas came and went. It was cool to have Julie and her family in. I got a few useful things (including a sweet set of poker chips from Isaac) and had a good time with family. I spent the rest of Christmas day working on wedding invitations.
Last Friday five of us headed up to Canada again. It would have been a great weekend (I went up $130 bucks in the casino playing craps) if I didn't get in an accident in Dan's car 5 min after we crossed the boarder. F. It wasn't too much damage to either car, and nobody was hurt..so that's good. But, I had that to worry about the whole time I was there. In the end though (Thank God!) Dan's insurance covered everything and I just have to pay $100 deductible. Not to shabby...heck craps covers that.
Umm, so let's see, we got back Sunday, I worked Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night and Wednesday I officially moved out of my parents house. Thanks to Nate, Mike, and Kristin for the help moving. Also, thanks to Erin for the use of her Blazer (I had to get the shutouts in there).
I feel a deeper connection to Jon since I live on my own now. It's weird not having my room at my parents house. Oh well, my wife will be moving in in not to long.
New Years eve I worked Valet at the Abbington. It kind of sucked because most people took hotel shuttles or cabs. I did OK, but overall didn't make very much. Oh well. Oh, someone wanted there car during the countdown, so I rang in the new year at my key box. Gay.
OK, hopefully I'll get cable hooked up at my apartment soon so I can get online there. And, once I get more settled you are welcome to stop by and see the place.
Later.

The Bed gets delivered today. When we went back they gave us a free headboard and free delivery. Sweet. Thanks to all of you that volunteered to help move it. Maybe I'll contact you when it comes time to move other stuff.
My sister comes in today. Cool.
I stayed at the apartment over the weekend. Air mattresses suck, they are just about flat in the morning.
Ah. Lunch is over. More later.

Thanks to Nathan, Tim, Nick, and Chris for helping me out with valet on Saturday night. It was pretty cool to be "overstaffed" for once.
I signed the lease to the apartment yesterday. We are only locked in till the end of October. Then, we can either move if we need, or stay there at the same price. Good deal. Oh, and since it is just sitting there empty he gave me the keys. So, I guess I am getting a half months rent for free. That's cool. I can start bringing stuff over and getting it all set up.
Anyone remember my previous post (a long time ago) about mattress places. I thought they were mob connected. Well, they still might be, but I know now why legit ones can stay in business. Mattresses are EXPENSIVE. I walked in yesterday figuring I would spend 200-400 for a decent queen sized bed. I walked out with a receipt for one costing much more than that. However, it is a REALLY comfortable Kingsdown king sized bed. If you could sleep on a cloud (yet with good back support) it might feel like this set we got. And, I got a good deal on it. The problem now it getting it up to the third floor. Anyone? Anyone?
So, I have an apartment and a bed. School is over for now (I think I may have pulled off straight A's..but I'll have to wait to see), and the reception place is booked. Good deal. Now I just have to Christmas shop, finish booking the honeymoon, finish all the other wedding plans and stuff, work on our website, etc. etc.
Good times.
I wish I was in Europe right now...Mike style.

So..I signed the contract for the reception place. We also found out we got the apartment. I move in on the 1st. Things are moving around here...its sweet. I think that's the biggest news.
I spent Sunday working on the website for Kristin and I. Hopefully when school ends I will finish it up (OK, it still has a long way to go) and get it hosted.
My sister Julie and her family are coming in for Christmas. I'm excited about that too.
That's all for now.

I'm working about 63 hours this week. The exact number depends on how quickly people leave the Abbington tonight and tomorrow.
I'm tired.
I'm not looking forward to my finals next week (shouldn't be THAT bad, but I will need to spend some time studying).
I'm glad I worked at McCormick Place yesterday (we got Christmas bonuses!)
I'm convinced that Kristin is getting cuter everyday.
I'm over halfway through the half lunch I am taking today.
I'm done posting.

OK, once again it has been a while. It's Monday and I am back at my desk. Ugh. It was so much harder to come in this morning after having a long weekend.
Speaking of which, my holiday was good. We went to Kristin's parents and basically just chilled for a few days. There was other stuff I should have done, but it was good to just relax for a bit.
I plan to sign a contract for our Wedding reception later this week. What a relief. Hopefully plans will get easier (and cheaper) from here on.
We also expect to find out if we get the apartment we applied for this week. What? Oh yeah, we applied for an apartment in Wheaton. It is a sweet 2 bedroom with a huge brand new kitchen, wood floors, and new bathroom. It's also the cheapest place we have looked at so far. Don't tell them, but we probably would have paid more for it if they asked...
Anyway, so we will be very thankful if we get it. The only downside is that in order to make sure we get it, I will probably have to move in a month earlier then I wanted. So, I may need help moving some stuff in a few weeks.
Yesterday we finished registering. Man, stuff is expensive. I hope we get some of it. We are registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target. Check out what we picked if you want. As a side note, you would think registering for gifts would be fun. Well, it sort of is. Overall though, it is exhausting. You walk through the whole store and try to pick out EVERYTHING you need. And you (I) don't just pick the first thing you (I) see. No...my personality has to compare all the blenders (for example) to see how they will go with the rest of the appliances, how expensive it is, what functions it has, etc. Maybe I am just anal about stuff... Anyway, exhausting.
OK, that's a decent update. It is dedicated to Mike and Anna, because they leave me messages.

The ring meets the finger in: 3 months from today
Friday again already huh? Time seems to be flying by. Geepers. Before I know it I'll be an old man in funny clothes. I will use a cane, move slowly, and be hard of hearing. Humm, best not to think about that.
I started working on a new website for Kristin and I. I guess I was inspired by thehorners.net to actually start it, but it has been in the back of my mind for a while. I plan to use it for profiles on us, wedding updates, pictures, and more. Should be a good time.
Of course the real question is wheather I will finish it or not...
OK, lunch ends in 10 min and I still have some phone calls to make. Sorry for being productive Pat.

CD: Coldplay Live 2003
So I was working on a website with free time yesterday afternoon and I fell asleep in my chair. In my dream I remember that being in someone else's car and putting in the coldplay CD. Anyway, I guess the CD player was broken because it just kept repeating the same 30 seconds or so of the song The Scientist. I kept trying to skip tracks, but it wouldn't work. I tried to take the CD out, but no luck there either. None of the buttons on the CD player worked. Meanwhile I was getting pissed off and really sick of that song. Other stuff happened in the dream too, but it kept coming back to the fact that I couldn't get the stupid CD player to stop playing that 30 second clip.
I woke up and headed to Kristin's work to see her. It was while I was driving that I realized that the 30 second clip was actually what I was hearing while I was sleeping. I had the Live DVD on in the background while I was working and when it ended it went back to the menu screen...which repeated the clip.
It was a weird realization.
I guess you had to be there.
Anyway, nothing else is too new. The plan is to decide on the reception place this Saturday. We may decide on where to live then too. So, I wouldn't mind any prayers for us as we make those decisions.
I am going to Kristin's parents house for thanksgiving. It should be a nice relaxing few days.
I'm looking forward to it.
Despite what Chris wrote, they did not kick butt in the newly wed / almost wed game we played last night. They won, yes, but on the last question..and it was iffy (not like Jon). It was a good time though.
OK, back to work for me. Say hi to me mike style.

I had a little free time last night and today. I could have worked on my website. I could have done homework. I could have cleaned up my room. I could have done a lot of worthwhile things..I didn't though. I just sat around. Oh well.
I'm sick by the way. Just a cold, but it throws me off. Hopefully it will go away soon.
Our top apartment pick right now is one in Wheaton. It's on the second floor of a 4 unit house in a residential neighborhood. It's a two bedroom (one is really small though), wood floors, and old (I believe the guy said turn of the century). The kitchen and bathroom leave plenty to be desired, but it would give us more room, be fun for Kristin to decorate, and is cheaper than all the other stuff we have looked at. We could get a 6 month lease too..so who knows.

Song: California Dreaming (this crazy jazz version) - Wes Montgomery
So, crap. What has happened since last time? Umm..
More reception sites and potential apartments. Still nothing set in cement though.
I got a hair cut. (all of them actually) (Haha, get it?) (::hangs head::)
Speaking on one legged hobos, what do you say to one hitch hiking on the side of the road? - - - "Hop in!" (hey!) (hangs head further)
I started listening to Accuradio.com, an Internet radio station, at work. I dig it.
It's Friday and I don't have to work tonight. I am going over to surprise Kristin with a date when she gets off work. I was thinking food, a haunted house, and then a "scary" movie back at the apartment. But, we will see what she feels like.
OK, I think I'll post a picture and get out of here.

Band: The Get Up Kids
I had this great idea. Everyone here either brings their lunch or buys it. Well, I went shopping and got a loaf of bread and some peanut butter. I keep it in my drawer (along with frappuccinos, pudding, chips, oatmeal cream pies, Swiss rolls, gum, canned goods, popcorn, etc.) and make a sandwich when I am hungry (or for part of my lunch). I call them sandwiches on demand, and I am eating one right now.
It doesn't take much to excite me when food is involved.
I am pretty used to work and school. I found it's manageable if you don't do the homework (at least the homework that isn't collected). Anyway, because I didn't do any of my math homework I was freaking out before the test. I spent a long time studying though and pulled the second highest grade in the class (%99). I don't quite know how it happened..but I'll take it.
The apartment hunt continues. We went back for a second look at Amli (not Amile as formally stated). It was smaller then we remembered. We haven't ruled it out, but decided to keep looking. Meanwhile I have stumbled on to apartmentreviews.com and have become paranoid about signing a lease. The whole site seems to be people writing in their bad experiences with different complexes. I checked out International Village and Amli and they both had a bunch of negative comments about management and stuff. Oh, and if any review is too good I am too skeptical to believe that it wasn't written by the owner or management company that owns the place. So, like I said - paranoid.
I did however find one place with all good ratings. It is Elm Creek in Elmhurst and it's looks really nice. It's expensive. I think we are going to go check it out on Saturday though.
Umm..wedding plans are making very slow progress. The problem is picking the place for the reception. After that things should run much smoother.
Kristin made Fajitas last night after my class. They were so good.
Sorry it took so long for me to update. Leave a comment if youwant.
