In The CD Player: Foo Fighters "Breakout"
So I looked at Jon's blog and found that he switched picture hosting to picturetrail.com. So...just for you..I set up an account. For picture descriptions read my blog from last night.
One might ask.."David, how come you post a decent picture of you and a wacky picture of Jon? What gives you the right to post a picture of Jon that some people would be self conscience about?"
Well...I don't think Jon minds. He is cool like that. And even if he does, I have the right to do that because IT"S MY FRICKING BLOG. HES GOING TO HAVE TO SUE ME IF HE WANTS ME TO TAKE THAT PICTURE DOWN. (ok, a polite e-mail would probabaly work too).
Later kids.

In The CD Player: Not Mixed Yet (ie. a rough copy of our newly recorded songs).
What the heck am I doing up at 4:30 AM? Well..I don't really know. I hung out with Dan till about 2:00, came home, watched about half of velvet goldmine (I was expecting much better..I don't think I will finish the movie. It turned out to be Spinal Tap meets Citizen Kane all wrapped up in lots of homosexuality. I guess I was looking for more of an Almost Famous type movie.), and then did some design work on potential CD cover art. I have designed a few in the past months. The one I am working on now is a tag-team effort between Jon and I. He sent me his orignal idea and now I am messing with it.
Anyway, lets see....what else is new? Oh yeah, we had a band meeting last night. It was pretty cool. We all got together and talked about our motivations, our purpose, our future plans for the band, etc. It was something we have needed to do for a while, so I am glad we finally got around to it.
Recording is done. I finished some small vocal parts this afternoon. What I am listening to now is a not yet mixed or mastered version but is sounds pretty good. Basically these three songs kick the crap out of all our old stuff. Well, I would like to think so anyway. I guess people outside of the band would be a better judge of that. So...we will just wait and see.
I just opened a new 36pix account. Lets see if I can get some pictures to work.
I think I tried posting this before...my niece. I took this picture during my trip to FL.
Me hanging out during recording.
The funniest picture of Jon...taken while screwing around during recording....once he finished drums what else was there to do?

In The CD Player: Rocking and Chillin V1. - Starts off with rock from such bands as NoTagbacks and Chevelle, progresses to the emotional songs of Craig's Brother and Plankeye, and finishes with some straight chilling by Twothirtyeight and Starflyer 59.
I don't usually clarify my "In the CD Player" section so much but tonight is one of those nights when it is important. Well, important to me anyway. Today I was so bored..all day. No one could do anything. I sat sweating in my room and messed with the new site design, watched Mulholland Drive, and basically wasted time. Finally around 9:30 I had to get of the house. Tonight is one of those perfect nights for just driving down the highway with the windows down. Well....
OK..I have just tried to type how enjoyable driving at night is for me two times and it hasn't come out right either one. For some reason I have having a hard time putting it in to words. At this point I am tempted to erase the whole thing and not post tonight. Humm..well if you are reading this than I obviously ended up opting to press on. I'll have you know that I didn't want to though.
AHHH. OK..just put it this way. Some people relax with long walks on the beach (or so the personal ads are rumored to say), I relax well driving by myself at night. Music on. Singing along. Windows down. Cruise control on.
So, since that obviously didn't work I will let you know I almost updated earlier today. I started writing and it got into some deep stuff about what makes me tick. Unfortunately after a lot of typing I still hadn't fully explained my position. So, I saved it to work on some other time. Who knows when that will be.
In other news recording is going pretty well I think. Jon and Dustin are done. Jay and steve both have some small guitar work to do and vocals. I also have more vocals to do. We should be done recording this week and have the finished copy in a couple weeks after that.
OK, thanks for reading. (both of you).
