Song: Nothing

I don't like writing stuff about other people in my blog. However, in this case I will just record the day's events how they happened. I have heard it said that anger should be released through artistic activity. So....here it is...in hiku form. It is possible however that there is some excuse for what happened. If I hear it and think it acceptable I will write another verse dismissing the blame. Until then though...poetry at its finest...

A Hiku by David:

They Might Be Giants
Free show Saturday at 12.
I would love to go.

One chance to practice
Saturday at twelve o'clock.
I guess I'll practice.

Where the eff is Jay?
Should have come an hour ago.
I guess we'll go home.

What a waste of time.
For Dustin, Jon, and David.
Yeah, so I'm pissed.

My thought process for the past half hour:

00 - Feeling antsy. Need to get of the house. Need to release energy.
05 - Why don't I go for a run?
10 - I'm changed and now outside. I take off down the street.
11 - This isn't so bad. Feels good.
12 - I am in my groove
13 - F.
14 - F.
15 - What was I thinking? F.
16-20 - F.
21 - Home again.
22-30 - Waiting for breathing to return to normal.

Song: I Pretend to Choke - Twothirtyeight

Looking Forward to: Getting DSL back soon, getting my new optical mouse in the mail, picking up my fixed car, and hanging out tonight.

Not Looking Forward to: Paying for car repairs and doing school work that needs to be done.

Current Income Potential: Redesigning and maintaining a website for a company in Warrenville. I have a meeting at their office on Monday morning to discuss it.

On my feet: Gorilla slippers

Hours of sleep last night: 7.5

Yapper the Fish: Still alive...

Song: Shut Your Mouth - Fanmail

It was my original intention to post about my day yesterday. However, I am realizing it will probably be long and boring. So, lets just say it involved a car that wouldn't start and 3 dollars worth of pay phone calls. Oh, and add a few wrong numbers, me being late for stuff, and a tow truck into the mix. Good times huh? No.

On the bright side of yesterday, I did meet Kristin (although she ended up having to pick me up from COD) for lunch. We got to hang out and talk and stuff. So, that's always good right?

Current Dilemma:
Jay, Dustin, Jon and I are getting together for practice on Saturday at 12:00. This is good because we have started meeting weekly. We are actually getting stuff done and should have some new songs finished before long. Anyway, I just found out today that They Might Be Giants (they're old school) is playing a free show in Oak Park at the exact same time. I don't listen to them at all anymore...but I did own two of their tapes back in the day. So, part of me wants to ditch practice to go see them. I don't think the guys would appreciate that very much though. F.

Song: Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry

11:28 - Crap, I have 32 min to post a Tuesday Confession or I will be late two weeks in a row.
11:35 - Oh..I have one...wait..no it is too recent...haha. I will have to wait a bit before releasing that bit of dirt.

On a side note...I am afraid Yapper the fish may not live to a ripe old age. He doesn't seem at all interested in any of the food I give him. Some people talk to their pets. I used to think that was crazy...until today.

Me: "Eat, you stupid fish."
Him: Nothing...He just stared at me.

Humm.. Maybe he doesn't like his new home. Maybe he is on a hunger strike...

11:39 - Got it.

Tuesday Confession # 3
This is the first and last time I ever swore in front of my mother:
I would say it was probably around 7th grade. My brother and I were jumping on our 13ft trampoline one day during the summer. We were play Karate fighting and he accidentally jump kicked me right in the face (probably for lying and getting him in trouble when I was 5). Without thinking I let the F-word out. My Mom just happened to be on the back porch at the time. Well, needless to say, she didn't accept that being kicked in the face was a good enough reason to use the F-word. I wasn't allowed to use the trampoline for the rest of the day.

Song: The Hands Of Men - Twothirtyeight

Last names on the Internet. The topic seems to be picking up heat lately. Some people think it's no big deal, while others are offended to find their name on other people's blogs.
I am suggesting a curtesy rule. Unless you know it's OK with that person..don't use their last name. I mean, anyone that you know that is reading it will still know who you are talking about. I would like to be able to use my first and last name where I want....and that's it. If anyone feels inclined to mention me in their blog...please use David, Dave, Dave R, or even just Rauch. I don't think that I am going to be abducted by an Internet perv if you do use my name...its just a personal preference. Thanks.

Song: Valentine - The Get Up Kids

So I thought to myself...(no, not "what's in a name?") since I changed around my room...the whole "David's Room" blog thing will have to go. So, I just whipped this one up. I will probably go back and make some changes to it...but I just wanted to get something up. Yeah, so that's that. OK..believe it or not, I have things I have to do.

1 Sam 30:6 - But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Song: The Bathroom is a Creepy Place For Pictures Of Your Friends - Twothirtyeight

Well...I definitely found more cool stuff. Unfortunately I didn't blog about it when it happened and now I forgot what it all was. Oh well.
I am almost done with my room. In celebration I took Emily and Levi out today to help me pick out a new fish. We picked up a red and blue beta fish. Levi named it Yapper. Emily added Spunky as the middle name. So...yeah...umm...meet Yapper the Fish.

I finally got the twothirtyeight CD yesterday. It's sweet. Speaking of sweet...sleep. Sleep is sweet. I am going to go do that right now.
