Well, I got my camera. So, I can start making this blog more umm..multimediafilledforagoodtime. Is that a word? I'm not sure. Anyway, here are two pictures of my new chair. I hate posting them, because just seeing it does not do it justice. You really need to sit, to relax, to experience it. Oh well. I guess you will just have to trust me that it is comfortable.

Song: Photobooth - Death Cab for Cutie

It's 11:03 and I am exhausted. What is up with that? If I had to peg a reason I would say it was the two hours of racquet ball I played tonight. I am really digging this game. It's inside so you can play in all weather, it doesn't require lots of strength, it's a good work out, it's a little dangerous (yeah, I live on the edge), and my years of playing tennis come in handy. I think I have played at class for five weeks now, and I have yet to lose a single game. Granted, I play other beginners and intermediates ..but that's OK.

12 hours from now I am meeting with Kristin's brother Nathan for a match at his health club. He's a big guy, I'm glad the game frowns upon player to player physical contact.

Oh, and as long as UPS doesn't screw up..my camera will arrive tomorrow. Sweet.

OK, I should really go do homework. Ugh. Maybe I will just recline in my leather chair and fall asleep. No, that wouldn't be very productive. F.

Song: Drive - Amberlin

It's crunch time. I have so much homework due by next Wednesday. That's OK though..I'm up to the challenge. Well, technically I have no choice..

OK, no really long offensive rant this time. Just good times with an SHB midweek flashback.

Midweek Flashback # 3
Think you know (knew) SHB? Well, well, well, here are a few pictures from our Five Day Forecast photo shoot that didn't make the CD. While you are laughing, remember this was the winter of 2000 before we took anything seriously. We were just crazy kids. Coincidentally, we sold more FDF CD's than our other two combined. Hummm...

OK, and just for kicks: a picture from the inside of my first car: THE OMNIMOBILE

Song: Honest Clean Mistakes - Backdrop

So, I was intently doing homework when suddenly my mind wandered. Humm..that's a first.
Anyway, I started thinking about how much I hate cigarette smoke. Then I started trying to figure out why someone would start smoking in the first place. Now, I know of at least a few people that read this and smoke, so sorry if I offend you.

Actually, no I'm not. Go ahead and take all of this as an insult to your intelligence. In other words, I don't think smokers are very rational people. Unless of course you started when you were young and are now too addicted to quit. In that case, sorry.

Maybe I am just ignorant. Maybe I am missing something. Maybe there is some hidden benefit that I don't know about. I mean, technically I have never tried it. That's OK though, I am willing to take the risk that I am missing out.

Did you know that only 3% of people that try to quit succeed. I think it's pretty ballsy for people to say they can quit whenever they want. That is basically saying that you have better self control and will power than 97% of the smokers that want to quit.

I guess it's just a pet peeve of mine. We all know smoking and secondhand smoke aren't good for you though...so I think I am somewhat justified. Get this, last week I was in a room with 5 other people. Two of them smoked and insisted on doing so despite what I thought was obvious body language objection by the rest of us. A smoke cloud formed around us and all we could do was awkwardly turn on a fan and choke it down. What is up with that?

So, if you smoke...I HATE YOU. No, not really. I know a lot of nice people that smoke, so I am not going to judge you over it. However, I will be more prone to avoid you while you are holding a lit cancer stick.

If you don't smoke, I wouldn't start if I was you. But hey, what do I know? Go for it if you really want. Maybe you are a part of the select 3%. Hey, that would be a big ego boost huh? You could tell people you took the smoking challenge and won. Maybe you could sell your success story to the Tobacco companies like Jared did to Subway. You would get a big fat promotional deal. The slogan could be "See, smoking is not addictive!" and it would have a picture of you. Granted, there would have to be a huge section of small print at the bottom of the ad admitting that smoking is actually addictive and it kills you. But hey, who cares..you could bring in the big bucks!

Are you someone that likes 3% odds? E-mail me for a unique gambling opportunity.

Top 5 Reasons to Pick Up Smoking:
1) The rebels in junior high will think you are cool.
2) Some chicks dig the smell of stale smoke.
3) Smoking is cheaper than drinking large amounts of highly priced Starbucks coffee.
4) Standing in cold / heat / rain / snow / etc. on your break is fun.
5) Higher death rates are exciting.

People tell me I'm sarcastic. Weird huh?

Random TheTruth.com facts:
Smokers are admitted to hospitals twice as often as nonsmokers.
Cigarettes are responsible for more yearly deaths than AIDS, murder, suicide, fires, alcohol, and all other illegal drugs...combined.
70% of smokers want to quit and can't.
1,200 people die from cigarettes every day.
Children under 5 who are exposed to secondhand smoke have a higher risk factor for the development of a food allergy.

Ohhh..I hope I get nasty e-mails from smokers all around the world. Haha. IntTastes@aol.com if you are interested. Or, better yet, sign the guestbook. Okay, enough of this rant. It's time for me to get back to homework.

Song: For Your Love - The Yardbirds

I got home Friday night and my parents had me go outside and look at the family van. The driver's side is all smashed in and mangled. I guess my brother was fishtailing around corners for fun, lost control and got in a fight with a tree. From the look of the van, the tree won. I wanted to talk to Isaac about it the next day but he was at work. Valet. Hummm.

I finally cracked. For the past month I have been working a bunch of shows at McCormick Place as well as raking it in on poker nights. Well, I finally went on a spending binge. I bought myself the Casio Exilim M2 Digital Camera / MP3 Player. It is the same one I had around Christmas, except the next model up. It records sound and doubles as an MP3 player complete with earphones and a fly remote type thingy. I also got it with a 128 MB memory card so I can store lots of pictures, songs, etc. I'm so pumped.

Yesterday I went to IKEA with Dan to look for a chair for my room. For the past few months I have been sitting on a wooden folding chair. Needless to say my butt got soar. So, for my B-day and Christmas Dan offered to buy me a chair. So anyway, I picked out this fat leather chair that reclines. I got a foot rest too. For those of you that have seen my room you know its a tight fit...but it's well worth it. Oh yeah, I remember the point of this story...the chair I picked was obviously too much for him to cover so I picked up the difference.

Well, I have some other expenses coming up this month (Valentine's Day and a ski trip with college group) so I had better switch back into frugal mode until then.

If my camera was here I could take a pictures of the smashed van and my new chair and post them. Unfortunately I bought it online so I have to wait for it to be shipped. F.

You should see me know. I am half way reclined, feet up, cordless keyboard in lap, and just straight chillin. Ohh yeah.

OK, time for homework.
