The police raided my next-door neighbor's house last night and arrested him for dealing cocaine. Silly neighbor, didn't he know this is EAST Division St....the good side of Ardmore. We don't stand for that over here.

Mid-Week Flashback # 4
This week I just want everyone to stop for a second to think about the most pointless game ever. It was sometimes called "quarters" but more often "bloody knuckles." OK, in case you haven't heard of it or you don't remember, here is how it goes. Two or more kids (usually boys) flick a quarter so it starts spinning. Then, each person takes a turn hitting it mid-spin to keep it going. The unfortunate boy that messes up the spin and causes the quarter to fall is the loser of the round. As a loser, it is his duty to make a fist and lay it on the table so the knuckles are touching the tabletop. Then the other boy or boys flick the quarter at his knuckle from close range. The game continues until either class starts again or someone's knuckles are bleeding to much to continue.
OK, I have admitted before I am a wuss. It's true, I don't really like pain. It doesn't do anything for me. Needless to say I never actually played this game. I did watch it though so it is a valid flashback.
I wonder if the kids that played thought they were cool because of it. Humm..maybe they were. Ladies, was there any point in between 2nd and 8th grade that you would have considered someone that played this game manly? Let me know via guestbook.

Random post from the SHB guestbook:
"All I can say it's hard to see Second Hand Bicycle End. A great Legacy has ended. Second Hand Bicycle was a great band indeed. Their music deserved more respect then It got, their music should have reached alot more people. But those of us who it did reach, got the best. Second Hand Bicycle is one of the great bands of all time. They will always have a special place in their fans hearts."
