Midweek Flashback # 9

My first entrepreneurial experience came when I was in second grade. It was history week in school and everyone was supposed to dress up like a historical figure. For some reason I ended up like the young George Washington. To complete the outfit my dad made me a sweet cardboard hatchet (you know, to cut down cherry trees) with construction paper and foil on the outside. The best part was that you could through it and it flew wonderfully. Anyway, the other kids liked it at school so I decided to try to sell them. I helped my dad mass produce them (15 or so) and sold them at recess for .50 each. Later my brother made me nunchucks (Ninja turtles style) and I started selling those too.Unfortunatly he charged me a quarter a piece for those. I then started taking orders for what color my customers wanted their handles to be. I even had a few pink ones made for the girls. Anyway, my defining moment that gave capitalism a place in my heart forever was during a morning recess. I had a crowd of kids around me all scrambling to buy my stuff, I kept making change with people, and before I knew it I had a $5 dollar bill. I was never spoiled as a kid..so that was big. After a week or so a teacher complained that kids were throwing them at each other in the field during recess and I was told by the principal to shut down my operations. F.

Song: Rock Your Body - Justin Timberlake

Yeah right,...the Real Song: Good - Better Than Ezra

OK, so I got this shirt at the thrift store yesterday but I am not sure what it means. It is totally my type of shirt though, (blue T-shirt with white writing) and it was only 40 cents so I figured "buy now, figure out the implications later."

On the front it says "3.5 million women can't be wrong." And then on the back it says "Go Greek."

Yeah, so I can think of a bunch of possible meanings, but I am curious to see what you smart people think. Use my guestbook and let me know. Thanks.

Band: Calibretto 13

Seen on a Kentucky Billboard: THE DOG PATCH - Pottery, Propane, and Gifts - Exit 3B

So, I was at a TN gas station / truck stop and I started browsing the "trucker section" of the store. You know, that's where you can get reflectors, country tapes, etc. Well, right next to the air fresheners, on the bottom row, I found......... dicast "Novelty Handcuffs." There are a lot of questions that I could raise, but I think I will just leave this one alone.

Dear Online Diary,

At about 12:30AM Saturday morning we were driving down a Kentucky highway on our way to South Carolina. We were cruising along happily when suddenly we came up to an SUV going slowly in the left lane. Since the other lane had cars in it my dad just hung in back of the SUV. After about a minute though he started to systematically flash his brights so the SUV would get the hint and move over. I don't think they did though because after 30 seconds of brights..... regular..... brights..... regular, etc. they rolled down their window and gave my dad the middle finger.

I think that's the first time I have ever seen anyone give my father the bird. It's kind of a weird experience. Later when the road gained another lane, and we passed the SUV, I gave them the finger as we passed.

Ugh. I can't lie to an online diary...I didn't actually flick them off. I thought about it though.
