Band: Sick of Change
I hate to give advice two blogs in a row. I mean, what do I know? Really? Oh well, it needs to be said:
Don't get your hair cut at the beauty school in Villa Park. Mike, Kristin, and a couple others went there last week because hair cuts are only $5 bucks. Well, I heard there were a few problems..but their hair looked good when I saw it. Anyway, since I am trying to keep mine short I decided I should check it out. A low price would be nice if I have to have it cut every 3 weeks. Well..it was a disaster. As soon as I sat down I knew I was going to regret it. The girl that did my hair did nothing short of a terrible job. When I got home and looked in the mirror I could see the back was really poorly done. The blending was bad, uneven, etc. You could actually see swervey lines in the back of my head. Ugh. So, I decided I would just have to tough it out for a week or so until it had grown enough to look OK. Then I remembered Great Clips is having a $5.99 hair cut sale. So, I went there and got my first ever "corrective hair cut." My hair now the shortest I ever remember it being..but hey, at least it looks decent.
Wouldn't this be a great time to show pictures of my crappy hair cut...or maybe of my new short cut? Yeah, but I didn't take any.
Midweek Flashback # 10
When my grandfather passed away my family rented a Rider truck to haul a bunch of things up here from Florida. I think I was about 9 at the time. Anyway, I still remember riding in the truck on the trip back. It was cool because the there was a door between the front seat and the back, and my dad let us go back there if we wanted. Anyway, at the beginning of the trip I was back there and some light boxes fell on me. I wasn't hurt, but it kind of freaked me out so that I didn't want to go back there any more. After hours on the road though I really wanted to go in the back, lay down, stretch out, and sleep. So, I went to the back of the truck by myself and laid down in the middle looking up at the ceiling. I remember being afraid of more stuff falling so I didn't close my eyes. Finally I got tired of it and thought to myself "OK, if something is going to fall, it better do it now. And when it doesn't I can sleep peacefully." Well, 3 seconds after I had that thought, a full sized mirror came crashing down on me. I had a few cuts..but I wasn't too hurt. I think the shock of it was the worst part. I cried.
